Age: 30+
Current Characters: Shionne Imeris
Link to Reserve: here
Character Name: Fran
Character Canon: Final Fantasy XII
Canon Point: End of Game
Age: Unknown, well over 50
Crime: Heresy
Background: Fran on the FF Wiki
Personality:
🏹 Mysterious - Fran is much older than she appears, since Vieras age differently from the other many races on Ivalice. Adding onto that, Fran doesn’t talk to people she is uncomfortable with, letting Balthier take up the slack until she gets to know who she is around better. She has a very reserved attitude, and does tend to shut down to be cold and distant when offended. When she does speak, she has a slow, deliberate cadence to her words, since it appears that she is still trying to get her tongue to wrap around the common language of the Humes. When she does show her emotions, it’s very subtle and quiet, i.e. small smiles and fond expressions aimed at Balthier and later Vaan and Penelo as well.
🏹 Sensitive - Viera are shown to be extremely vulnerable to changes in the Mist. Fran uses it more than once to navigate the group around certain areas, and when it is off, she can tell through her senses. If the Mist is too unstable, it actually can force her to enter into a dangerous, feral state where she forgoes magic and weapons to take out foes with her claws and feet. (We also see this with her sister Mjrn when she is under control of a manufactured nethicite. Watching this transformation of both sisters makes the rest of the party more aware of her well-being when they enter new areas.
🏹 Loyal - Even though Fran doesn’t really like a lot of people, once they worm their way into her circle of associates, she does a lot to help them out. She’s been arrested so many times alongside Balthier as a sky pirate that they should probably just rent out rooms in the Archadian Empires holding cells. Once Balthier threw his hat into the ring to help Ashe/Amalia and Vaan for the good of the Dalmascan people, Fran didn’t blink. She just joined him and helped fight alongside the others. She goes out of her way to share the knowledge that she has with the others in the party so that they can be prepared. When Balthier goes to stop the Bahamut from crashing into Rabanastre, Fran gives copilot duties over to Penelo and joins him without a second thought. Another way she shows her loyalty to her former warren is that she makes sure that Mjrn knows that life outside of the Wood is not a good place for Viera if they wish to retain their connection, even to go so far as to hurt her younger sister’s feelings in the short term and help her older sister not lose both of them.
🏹 Resolute - The forest, as led by her older sister Jôte and the foremothers before her, is too stifled and stilled for Fran's taste. There was always a need for more than to stay in the Warren with the rest of the viera. While she loves her sisters and the embrace of the woods, she needs to feel the freedom of the open air and sky. However, viera society is such that she can't have one foot in and one foot out. Once you leave the Forest, you are gone forever. Even her life as Warden (the protectors) wasn't enough for Fran and only made her more restless. However, she knows that she's strong enough to survive the dulling of her senses and the loss of her ability to speak to the trees. That's why when the party rescues Mjrn from the Nethicite that is driving her crazy with the change to the Mists that all viera are sensitive to Fran tells her sister to return back to the others. She knows that while she would love to have one of her sisters again, she couldn't stand to watch Mjrn suffer and die after being cut off from all she knows.
Abilities: Fran is in the Archer job listed here and Red Mage listed here, which means she has the ability to use healing and damaging magicks while improving her ranged attacks with bows to deal more damage, such as drenching an enemy with oil and then setting them on fire. She also has access to three Mist abilities, Quickenings (Feral Strike, Whip Kick, and Shatterheart) and the ability to summon strong demi-gods called Espers. I’d actually like to cut off her access to the Espers, and leave her Mist abilities just lowered to do quarter-damage so that she’s not truly overpowered
Inventory: longbow, quiver of onion arrows, a stack of potions
Samples: Sample 1 | Sample 2
